I was introduced to SF1019 a few months ago on a clinical trial. I have "primary progressive" M.S. and am in a wheel chair. I had to get a tracheotomy tube put in my throat because I was too weak to cough up mucus so spent five weeks in the hospital with pneumonia. Even after I returned home from the hospital I was told to use a ventilator at night and pneumonia was a constant threat. I also needed a feeding tube because my swallow was so weak I aspirated food into my lungs. I have pain in my mouth caused by damage to nerves and needed the maximum amount of pain medication allowed. I had difficulty sleeping at night because my muscles would never relax. The deteriorating swallow, cough and increased pain were all things I'd been told would never improve--only get worse with time.
After a few treatments with this serum I developed a strong cough so the tracheotomy tube could be removed. For the last five months, since it was removed, I have had no threat of infection. My swallow is stronger so the feeding tube was also removed. I was able to cut down on my pain medication so have less side effects of confusion and sleepiness. I've had better rest at night than I'd had for years.
