Margaret — Georgia Shot Diary
Pre-Shot Symptoms
- • I had extreme pain (inflammation) on the right side of body from under the breast wrapping around the back to the spine. I was also experiencing pain in my stomach area. The pain was beginning to move to the left side of my body right before treatment began. I was unable to move around and it was extremely difficult to walk or stand for extended periods of time. More than 15-20 minutes was difficult.
- • I had numbing in my feet from the front pads to the ends of my toes. I could not feel hot or cold temperatures.
- • I had numbing on the middle fingers of both hands and the nail beds were discolored.
Pre-Shot Pain Treatments
- • Lidoderm Patch
- • Loritab (pain killers)
- • Hydro/Apap5 (substitute for Vicodin)
- • Neurontin
- • Several hot showers per day helped elevate the pain in my sides and stomach. Sometimes it was the only thing that brought relief.

1st Shot
General Health: I feel like my body is breaking down everywhere. I am losing strength and I get tired very easily.
My toes on both feet are numb from my arch to the tips of my toes and on the bottom of my feet are numb.
My two middle fingers on my right hand are numb.
My eyes blur off and on, not everyday. This is a new symptom.
I have a lot of pain on my left side from right under my breast to my waist. It feels inflamed.
The skin under my nail beds (where the moons are) on both hands are discolored (darker in color), than the tips of the fingernail nail bed. My thumbs have the worst discoloration.
I received my first shot at 9:00 pm. Within two hours I felt like I could breathe better. I didn't even know I wasn't breathing as well as I should.
January 20, 2006
I woke up feeling better today.
I could bend my two middle fingers on my right hand.
I could feel the cold floor with my toes.
I felt I could breathe better and I didn't have as much shortness of breath.
Areas of my stomach that were causing a great deal of pain aren't hurting me as much as before. There is still pain, but not as bad as before.
My eyes didn't blur today.
January 21, 2006
I am feeling better today than I did yesterday. I have a sense of well being in a way I haven't felt in a long time.
AM: Not much pain in my stomach this morning.
My hands and feet are still noticeably less numb. I am very excited so far.
January 22, 2006
I don't feel as well today as I did yesterday. No new improvements in my health today. I had a sleepless night last night, because of an up set stomach. I feel bloated today.
January 23, 2006
Feeling pretty chipper today... Nothing new to report with my health.
January 24, 2006
I didn't have a good night?s sleep. It is hard on me when I don't sleep well. I am tired the next day and it's hard for me to function properly. My side hurts more today also, but nothing like it did before. I feel the next shot will help alleviate more of the pain. I am looking forward to regaining more strength in the next several months. It will be really nice and I will start walking and jumping on my rebounder again.
January 25, 2006
It was a good day. I didn't have too much pain in my side. Looking forward to my second shot.
January 26, 2006
2nd Shot
I feel good this morning. I received my 2nd shot at 7:00 pm. No real signs of any change before I went to bed.
January 27, 2006
I slept very sound last night. Better than usual! I have a incredible sense of well being this morning. My fingers and my toes seem to have more feeling in them. My children can't believe how different my voice sounds over the phone and how much better I look. I had a small reaction at the injection site. I did not have a reaction with the first shot.
January 28, 2006
The reaction I had to the injection site of the shot is very itchy today, but it doesn't hurt much. This second shot doesn't seem as dramatic as the first one, but my thoughts seem clearer. I have a bounce in my step again. It is so wonderful to feel alive again. I am going to start deep breathing and using he rebounder today. I am very excited. It seems impossible to feel so different in such a short period of time.
January 29, 2006
I was so busy yesterday. I cleaned and didn?t experience any pain. I was wonderful, my side didn't hurt one bit. This is the first time in eight or so months that I could clean my house for more then an hour at a time without it killing me. I would always have to hold/cradle my left side in pain while cleaning.
January 30, 2006
I didn't sleep well last night. A lot of things on my mind, but I am feeling good today.
January 31, 2006
I slept very well last night. I feel really good today. Yesterday I had more pain on my left side. I didn't need pain killers or anything else. Just more discomfort than usual.
February 1, 2006
I had a real good day. I have had very little pain on my left side. I feel very upbeat. It is wonderful to be feeling so much better.
February 2, 2006
3rd Shot
I had very little reaction at the injection site of my third shot. I slept well all night.
February 3, 2006
I feel really good today. No noticeable change today. I have an amazing feeling of well being again.
February 4, 2006
I went out for about six hours today for the first time in over eight months. I experienced no pain! It was the most wonderful day. I can?t believe the difference after only three shots. Unbelievable!
February 5, 2006
Real good day!
February 6, 2006
Another good day!
February 7, 2006
Super Day! My two middle fingers on my right hand are still numb, but I believe there is more feeling than there was last.
February 8, 2006
I am feeling a little pain under my left breast. Not too bad though? The third finger on my right hand seems to have more feeling in it this week.
February 9, 2006
I was supposed to have my fourth shot today, but I am waiting on another delivery. I will see if any symptoms will start coming back. I pray this will not be the case, but we shall see. I felt good all day.
February 10, 2006
4th Shot
I received my fourth shot this evening.
February 11, 2006
I didn?t sleep well, but it wasn't because of the shot. I have had another reaction at the injection site. It is a big red spot the size of and orange and it itches.
February 12, 2006
The reaction at the injection site of the shot is painful today and itches a lot. However the middle fingers on my right hand, particularly the middle finger to the right is having feeling coming back to it. I am getting just a little bit more feeling in my toes after each shot. The tips of my toes on both feet are still numb and both of my large toes are still pretty numb. My stomach area is still having some pain, but is doesn't hurt like it used too.
February 13, 2006
I slept better last night.
February 14, 2006
I slept well... It seems like I am noticing a pattern. The first day I get the shot thru the third day I feel things going on in my body. Then the third to fourth day I begin to feel really good. A real sense of well being through the sixth and seventh days.
February 15, 2006
Real good day!
February 16, 2006
Great day! I am sleeping really well. I am getting eight to ten hours of sleep a night. This was not the case before the serum. I was averaging five to seven hours while waking up several times throughout the night.
February 17, 2006
Great Day! I am getting more strength everyday. It feels so great to be able to do all my housework and go shopping all in one day.
February 18-19, 2006
5th Shot
I had a reaction again with this shot. I have had a reaction every time except for the first shot.
February 21, 2006
My reaction this time is worse than the other times. I feel it is a very small price to pay for having all the pain leaving my body.
February 22, 2006
Real good day! My diet will help in the way my body responds to the shot.
February 23, 2006
I know the shot helps stabilize my emotions. I think clearer and it's a real motivator.
February 24, 2006
I feel good today, except for some pain on my right side. I started not feeling well this afternoon, but I believe I am coming down with a cold.
February 26, 2006
This is my tenth day without a shot. I am feeling well and recovering from coming down with a bug. I have noticed some swelling on my right side. It is starting to hurt again when I bend over. It is like something is too big inside for my body.
February 27, 2006
I slept well last night. I feel pretty good to day. I had a fever yesterday, but not too high. My fever is gone today, but I feel really tired.
February 28, 2006
This is my twelfth day without a shot. I am not inhaling air as effortlessly as before. It isn't severe but uncomfortable. The changes are subtle.
March 1, 2006
This is my thirteenth day without a shot. Today has been a real mental challenge. My sense of well being is gone. What a difference a week makes. I noticed my two right hand fingers are numb again. My toes don?t seem to have changed.
March 3, 2006
My right side (which has always been the most painful before the shot) hurts the most. It seems to catch when I bend over and is extremely painful.
March 4, 2006
6th Shot
My sixteenth day was as long as I could go without another shot. I took my shot at 12:00 noon. It is now 7:00 pm and my breathing seems better already.
March 5, 2006
I woke up this morning and my side wasn't hurting. I can bend over again without any pain. I also slept well last night.
March 6-7, 2006
Really good days! No pain!
March 8, 2006
I have a feeling of well being. The shot seems different this time, but I don't know what it is.
March 9, 2006
I have been sleeping really well lately.
March 14, 2006
No sign of pain in my side yet. My mood is a little heavier, but not bad.
March 15, 2006
This is day twelve since my last shot. I have some pain in my side, but it could be from working hard yesterday. I will know more by tomorrow.
March 16, 2006
7th Shot
I had pain on both sides again. Not bad pain, but I knew it would just get worse so I decided to go ahead and take another shot. I took my shot at 4:00 pm.
March 17, 2006
The pain in my sides is gone today! I feel great today.
March 18, 2006
My fingers aren't as numb. My toes see to be getting better all the time. There is still numbness but the feeling is coming back slowly.
March 21, 2006
There is something going on in my mid section on my right side. It isn't painful unless I move certain ways, then it hurts badly for a short time. I can't describe it, it just feels like something is swollen in there and when I move wrong it hurts.
March 25, 2006
8th Shot
April 3, 2006
9th Shot
This is the last shot of this series.
Overall my improvements have been incredible. My two middle fingers have regained feeling and the discoloration in the nail beds has disappeared except for my thumbs. My thumbs are however lightening in comparison to the beginning of the treatments.
The feeling on the bottoms of my feet from the front pads to the tips of my toes is improving. I can feel hot and cold to the touch now. The tops of my feet were never an issue. Feeling from my baby toe to my big is improving. I am slowly getting feeling back in those toes. My big toe is slower to follow in the healing.
My right side continues to bring discomfort and pain when attempting to bend or if too much pressure is applied to the area. The pain is felt from under the right breast at the edge of the rib around the right side to the spine.
I have also noticed when there is a lapse in time longer than a week in taking the shot; my sense of well being diminishes. I become more agitated, scattered and unsure.
